Seasonal
rates for parking your boat AT YOUR SITE
are $175 per boat over 14 OR over 20 H.P., while
boats under 14 feet AND
under 20 H.P. are $100 per season. We do not allow parking
of empty boat trailers on your site. Please see the
management for the location of parking empty boat trailers
for $75.00 per season. Canoes or small carry boats, non-trailered,
are exempt from the fee schedule when kept at your site as
they may be leaned against the back of your trailer. All
boat fees are due April 1 for the first half payment, and
Memorial Day for the second half payment.
-
The reason for the
parking policy is two-fold. First, we are in the business of
renting sites and boat slips. Keeping a boat on a site
instead of rented dock space causes us to have vacancies on
our boat dock. Our boat dock investment and annual
maintenance and insurance costs are substantial, and this
fee schedule encourages rental of our dock space which is
provided for you, our campers, at a reasonable seasonal fee.
Secondly, our sites are meant for camping trailers and
automobile parking only. At times they are quite congested
with that alone. Campsites do not have room for extra
vehicles including boats and boat trailers. In order to
preserve our atmosphere of a campground, we strongly
discourage housing of boats or boat trailers on your site.
Management reserves the rights to disallow particular boats
that it feels are just too large to keep on particular
campsites. No boats may be kept on campsites in the field
area.
-
Occasional
dock rental.
If you park a trailered boat at your site, you may rent a
boat slip on a temporary basis for $20-$25 per day on the
marina, or $3 per day on our fishing dock (only small boats
on fishing dock).
-
Small boat
docking.
There is a fishing boat dock behind the dance pavilion with
rings to hook a boat up to. Keeping a boat of any type 14’
or under or 20 H.P. or under, including paddleboats and
canoes, on this dock behind the dance pavilion will be
charged for at $100 per season or $3 per day.
-
General
regulations.
(a) No swimming, jumping or diving from docks. (b) No
children allowed on docks unless accompanied by an adult.
(c) No running or horseplay on docks. (d) No fishing from
main dock. (e) As with trailers, campers are responsible for
their own boats and equipment at all times. It is up to each
individual camper to insure and protect their personal
property from theft or harm. (f) All boats must be launched
from the public ramp across the cove. No boats may be
launched from the waterfront of King's Campground as it
creates erosion of our waterfront turf and subsoil.
-
NO JET SKIS
allowed at King's Campground at any time.
Please advise guests that jet skis shall not approach our
shoreline.

Massachusetts
State Law.
(a) Boats and Motor Powered Vessels are required to stay at
least 150 feet away from all beaches, public and private.
(b) Between 150 and 300 feet of a beach, Boats and Motor
Powered Vessels are allowed to operate only at headway
speed. (c) Within 150 feet of a boat launch facility, raft
or float, motor powered vessels are allowed to operate only
at headway speed.
This
means that any boat or jet ski in the entire cove in
front of the campground must travel at headway speed
(speed that creates no wake, approximately 5 mph) at all
times. Any speed greater on this side of the
sunken wall is in clear violation of state law and is
considered a safety hazard! Boaters and Jet Skiers
that endanger our adult swimmers and children in the
water shall be reported to the authorities for
prosecution.
